Rebecca Womack
Rebecca has worn many hats around Sisters Athletic Club and we appreciate all her hard work and dedication. She is currently the Aquatics Director/Swim Instructor as well as a face you will often see working at the front desk.
Rebecca grew up in Andrews, NC and attended Andrews High School. After High School, she attended Brevard Jr. College in Brevard, NC for 2 years. Finally attending East Carolina University, in Greenville, NC where she got her B.S. in Child Development/Family Relations.
After college, Rebecca had the opportunity to live in many other states like Greenville, NC, Colorado Springs, CO, Portland, OR and now here in Sisters. This is actually the 2nd time she has lived here. She and her husband Thomas lived here in 1989-1996 where they were able to raise their children in Tollgate. In 2002 they made their way back and have now settled in Timbercreek.
Rebecca got involved in teaching swim lessons because she felt that by getting her Water Safety Instructors Certificate, she could continue to work with kids. She has learned an incredible amount about herself by teaching swim lessons. She loves working with people and loves working here because of that. She is currently working on being able to teach the WSI as well as learn sign language.
Rebecca has 5 grown children (4 sons and 1 daughter) and is the proud grandparent of 2. Some fun facts about Rebecca are: she was the mascot for her high school football games…go Wildcats! She was also in the Miss Cherokee County Beauty Pageant in 1972. Her talent for the pageant was singing, which she laughs about now, because she can’t carry a tune (her words, not mine).
Finally, Rebecca just received the New Member Award from the Sisters Rotary Club for her vocational service in working with the 3rd grade swim classes. Good job Rebecca!
