What’s New at SAC

By | Club News | No Comments

If you haven’t had a chance to check out our new schedule, now would be a good time. We have completed our new Myra Lani Mind Body Studio and with that addition we have been able to add numerous new classes to our schedule.

We will now offer Yoga classes six days a week with new Hot Vinyasa classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a new Gentle Yoga class starting on November 19th at 10:45am Wednesday mornings.

New classes are also being offered in the group exercise room. Body Sculpt class is now available on Wednesday mornings at 9:15am and a brand new CORE class on Mondays and Fridays at 9:30am.

Kids ages 6-11 can also get in on the action with our new Fit Kids class Monday and Friday at 3:45pm and adults can challenge themselves in our new Total Fit Class offered Monday and Friday at 5:15pm.

The cyclists are moving inside for their workouts and spin classes are filling up quickly so we now offer a 5:30pm spin class on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Club is getting busier as folks move their activities indoors. Please remember to sign up for Body Sculpt and Spin classes up to a week in advance to secure a spot.

Social hours at the Club are between 8am and 10am so if you would like to visit with your friends this is a good time to come. If you would like to visit the Club during our quieter hours try coming between 11am and 3pm.

We are super excited to see so many people committed to their health and we are here to help you in any way we can.

The Myra Lani Project

By | Club News | No Comments

Many of you know that our very special yoga instructor, Myra Lani was involved with a documentary project towards the end of her life. The 13 minute film is now complete and there is a final push for monetary donations to enable the film to be shown at various film festivals. The film is a tribute to the strength of the human spirit and Myra’s intimate story of death told in parallel with the story of yoga as a practice of letting go. If you are able to make a donation to help fund this films distribution you may do so either through the Myra Lani Project website ( or through your Club account at SAC. We will gladly take donations on the film’s behalf by cash, check, credit card or house charge.

May is Get Active America Month – Bring a Friend for Free

By | Club News | No Comments

Each May, in celebration of National Physical Fitness & Sports Month, health clubs nationwide take part in Get Active America! in an effort to help their communities get active and get healthy.
Sisters Athletic Club is joining with the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) to help America become physically active and improve their diet. As part of Get Active America! Sisters Athletic Club will encourage the community to pursue a more active lifestyle by committing to 30 minutes of activity every day.

During the month of May, the Sisters Athletic Club will open its doors ANY TWO WEEKS for FREE to people who are ready to get active. In addition, the Sisters Athletic Club would like to challenge everyone in the community to walking 10,000 steps a day. If you sign up at the Club for the 10,000 steps a day challenge and complete it, you will be entered into our drawing for some great raffle prizes.

Obesity and chronic disease are challenges many Americans face. Now recent findings have suggested that physical inactivity is a risk factor for chronic disease on its own, independent of its link to obesity. One study even found that physical inactivity currently kills more Americans than smoking.
Fortunately, there is a solution: regular exercise! Just 30 minutes, 5 days a week can significantly reduce your risk of obesity and chronic disease. Join others in your community and make a commitment to physical activity and good health.

“Sisters Athletic Club realizes how difficult it is to make healthy lifestyle changes and how important it is to have the support of those around you,” says Tate Metcalf, Owner of Sisters Athletic Club “We’re here to offer inspiration and support to those in our community who want to improve their health and live more physically active lives. At Sisters Athletic Club we have the resources and professionals on staff to help them succeed.”
