Class Descriptions:

Grade School Lessons I & II

Beginning swimmers ages 6 and up with little to no experience.

Parent/Child

(at least 6mo) Parents accompany their children in this class. Basic skills, water safety and comfort taught through practical skills and song.

Minnow

(at least 2.5yrs) Children will practice pool exit and entry, become comfortable submerging, as well as working on assisted front/back floats, glides and basic pool safety.

Trout

Participants should be able to float and perform a front glide to participate in this class. They will practice bobbing, safety breathing and alternating arm strokes.

Kokanee

Swimmers should be able to swim 5-10yards of proper crawl stroke with safety breathing to participate in this class. Children will work on pool safety, swimming 12.5-25yards and receive an introduction to backstroke.

Steelhead

Swimmers should be able to safely complete a 25 yard swim without instructor assistance for this class. Participants will develop backstroke and freestyle, begin side-breathing, standing dives and dolphin kick.

Salmon

Participants should be able to swim 25 yards of backstroke, dolphin kick and freestyle to join this class. Butterfly will be developed, and breaststroke introduced. Endurance, flip turns and lap swimming etiquette will play a roll in this class. See Josie to see if your child belongs in Salmon 1 or 2. This is a precursor to swim club.

Adult

Adults who would like to learn to swim or improve their existing skills. Let the instructor know your goals!

Private Lessons/Training

Private lessons are available year round during most regular club hours. The increased individual focus allows participants to develop at a pace that is most comfortable for them. Whether you have a child entering the water for the first time, or an adult training for a triathlon, we have an instructor to fit your needs!
