Grade School Lessons I & II
Children ages 6+ with little to no swim experience.
(at least 6mo) Parents accompany their children in this class. Basic skills, water safety and comfort taught through practical skills & song.
(at least 2.5yrs) Children will practice pool exit and entry, become comfortable submerging, as well as working on assisted front/back floats, glides and basic pool safety.
Participants should be able to float and perform a front glide to participate in this class. They will practice bobbing, safety breathing and alternating arm strokes.
Swimmers should be able to swim 5-10yards of proper crawl stroke with safety breathing to participate in this class. Children will work on pool safety, swimming 12.5-25yards and receive an introduction to backstroke.
Swimmers should be able to safely complete a 25 yard swim without instructor assistance for this class. Participants will develop backstroke and freestyle, begin side-breathing, standing dives and dolphin kick.
Participants should be able to swim 25 yards of backstroke, dolphin kick and freestyle to join this class. Butterfly will be developed, and breaststroke introduced. Endurance, flip turns and lap swimming etiquette will play a roll in this class. See Josie to see if your child belongs in Salmon 1 or 2. This is a precursor to swim club.

Private lessons are available year round during most regular club hours. The increased individual focus allows participants to develop at a pace that is most comfortable for them.
