Rick Gillaspie
Rick Gillaspie is a face we have all seen around Sisters Athletic Club. Before, you would see him working out almost daily. Now, you still may see him working out daily, but you may also see him doing maintenance around the club. Rick is our new Maintenance Manager and he has been a great addition to the SAC team . We are very thankful to have him around.
Rick was born and raised in Corvallis, OR. Since then, he has had the opportunity to move around and experience life in different states. Rick and Sheree met in central Oregon in 1980. Rick worked for the City of Bend and Sheree for the USFS Sisters Dist. They were married in April of 1981 at the Chapel of the Pines in Camp Sherman. For their honeymoon they traveled up to the beautiful state of Alaska. They loved it so much, they decided to move there and start their family. In 1984 their daughter Kelsey was born in Fairbanks, AK.(she just got married 4 weeks ago). From Alaska, they lived in Bend, Eugene, Chicago and now Sisters.
Rick enjoys scuba diving and International travel. Rick and Sheree have traveled to Honduras, China, London and Africa. Africa was by far his favorite place to visit and Belize being his favorite place to scuba dive. On the lines of scuba diving, the biggest fish he ever swam with was a 40 foot whale shark. This was quite an amazing experience for him (see picture above).
A goal of Ricks is to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. We wish you well in completing this. He would also like to do more traveling and of course continue having lots of fun! One way that Rick is going to continue having fun is by attending as many OSU football games that he can…GO BEAVERS!
