Each May, in celebration of National Physical Fitness & Sports Month, health clubs nationwide take part in Get Active America! in an effort to help their communities get active and get healthy.
Sisters Athletic Club is joining with the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) to help America become physically active and improve their diet. As part of Get Active America! Sisters Athletic Club will encourage the community to pursue a more active lifestyle by committing to 30 minutes of activity every day.
During the month of May, the Sisters Athletic Club will open its doors ANY TWO WEEKS for FREE to people who are ready to get active. In addition, the Sisters Athletic Club would like to challenge everyone in the community to walking 10,000 steps a day. If you sign up at the Club for the 10,000 steps a day challenge and complete it, you will be entered into our drawing for some great raffle prizes.
Obesity and chronic disease are challenges many Americans face. Now recent findings have suggested that physical inactivity is a risk factor for chronic disease on its own, independent of its link to obesity. One study even found that physical inactivity currently kills more Americans than smoking.
Fortunately, there is a solution: regular exercise! Just 30 minutes, 5 days a week can significantly reduce your risk of obesity and chronic disease. Join others in your community and make a commitment to physical activity and good health.
“Sisters Athletic Club realizes how difficult it is to make healthy lifestyle changes and how important it is to have the support of those around you,” says Tate Metcalf, Owner of Sisters Athletic Club “We’re here to offer inspiration and support to those in our community who want to improve their health and live more physically active lives. At Sisters Athletic Club we have the resources and professionals on staff to help them succeed.”
